Syrian Defense Minister Gen. Dawoud Rajiha was killed in a terrorist attack in Damascus, ITAR TASS reports referring to state-run Syria TV.

A suicide bomber parked a cart near the Syrian national security headquarters when the cabinet was meeting with defense officials on Wednesday. The building located in Rauda district was damaged.

As reported by Al Arabia television, supporting Syrian opposition, the government forces blocked the hospital where the injured were transported. Lebanese Al Manar channel, supporting Syrian authorities, said Internal Minister Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar was injured.
