Yerevan. – Armenia will sign a Deep and Comprehensive Trade Agreement with the EU in two-three years, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan told news reporters during a briefing on Friday.      

“This assumes making Armenia’s economic system meet European standards. This refers to trade and trade-related domains. This refers not only to having zero customs duties, but also to all trade-related systems, [and] first and foremost, to quality control systems,” said Davtyan.   

The Minister recalled that Armenia already signed a free-trade-zone-establishment agreement with CIS countries. The country will finish the domestic procedures in two-three months and, subsequently, the CIS Free Trade Agreement will be put into force.     

And since the CIS and the EU are Armenia’s main trade partners, serious prospects are opening before exporters in terms of free and unrestricted access to major markets.
