YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Police denied the information regarding the dismissal of capital city Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazaryan.
The new refutation was made Friday, during the news conference held by the Police Chief and heads of Police departments.
To note, the Police Board meeting was held prior to the news conference.
To the query as to whether or not Nazaryan’s absence from the news conference means he no longer is authorized to respond to questions, Police Public Relations and Media Department Chief Ashot Aharonyan replied by saying that Nazaryan is on vacation as of Friday.
And to the question as to whether Nazaryan will return to law enforcement after his vacation, Aharonyan assured that “he definitely will return” and that he attended Friday’s Board meeting.
The news about Nerses Nazaryan’s possible dismissal is being circulated for a long time, and it was assumed that a respective decision was to be reached during the Board meeting.
