YEREVAN. – If former chief of Armenian Police Vano Siradeghyan appears in Armenia, he would be immediately arrested, Deputy Chief of Armenian Police Hunan Poghosyan said at a press conference on Friday adding he is wanted by Interpol. Earlier in Armenia a group has been created on Facebook social network, which collects signatures to support Siradeghyan’s return to Armenia. Vano Siradeghyan is wanted for having organized murder of two people in late 1990s.

To note, a criminal case was instigated against Siradeghyan in 1998 charging him for the organization of a series of killings. In 1999 the Attorney General’s Office achieved in withdrawing his MP mandate and arrest him, however, he was already out of Armenia. Siradeghyan is accused of corruption as well. The Office again was authorized to arrest him, however, his whereabouts is unknown since April, 2000.
