YEREVAN.- Incumbent Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is pursuing policy of large-scale reforms which is a guarantee for further development of the state, said MP from ruling Republican Party Margarit Yesayan.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, MP Yesayan said she sees no alternative candidate to the post, pointing out Serzh Sargsyan’s foreign policy, ability to solve regional problems and other issues.

“Other political figures had a chance to display their skills over the last five years but there were no grounds for optimism,” she added.

She stressed that everyone has to vote for a candidate based on his/her political views.

Another participant of press conference, member of the opposition Free Democrats party Anush Sedrakyan said incumbent president is to blame for all negative developments in the country.

“An atmosphere of total distrust, economic development cut off from society, and many other negative things prove that Armenian citizens should not vote for Serzh Sargsyan,” she said.

Presidential elections in Armenia are scheduled for February 2013.
