YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received a delegation led by Chairman Sergey Naryshkin of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Sargsyan expressed a hope that this visit will give new impetus to developing Armenian-Russian strategic relations, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. He appreciated Sergey Naryshkin personal contribution to strengthening the friendly ties between the two countries. Sargsyan also stressed that Armenia looks toward further deepening the interaction with Russia. In his words, these relations are a cornerstone of Armenia’s security.    

In his turn, the Russian State Duma Chairman likewise pointed to the high level of strategic partnership between both countries, and stressed that Russia highly evaluates its ties and cooperation with Armenia. Also, Sergey Naryshkin underscored the role of interparliamentary diplomacy in consolidating relations between the two countries, and assured that, together with their colleagues in Armenia’s Parliament, they will do their utmost to contribute to further strengthening ties between the two friendly peoples and countries.
