YEREVAN.- Armenia may ratify agreement on free trade zone this autumn, Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin said in Yerevan.

The Russian delegation had in-depth discussions on the issue during the meetings with President Sargsyan, head of the government and parliamentarians, he told briefing on Tuesday.

In the context of trade integration, he reminded of the existing customs union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. 

“Armenia’s leadership is following closely development of the Eurasian project and is working to determine its place acknowledging that Eurasian economic area is a basis for trade and economic relations,” he said.

Naryshkin stressed the Armenian government is elaborating documents on the agreement on free trade zone within CIS and the document will be obviously ratified during the autumn session.

Russia ratified the document in March 2012, and Belarus - in May.
