YEREVAN. – A total of 31 snake-bite cases are recorded in Armenia ever since July 1, and one of these incidents has resulted in death. 

To note, Babken Khachatryan, 54, a resident of Dalarik village in Armavir Region, was bitten by a snake in the field, on July 22. He died en route to hospital. 

A total of 8 and 22 people have applied to capital city Yerevan and regional medical facilities, respectively, as a result of being bit by snakes.  

But the Healthcare Ministry, together with Armenia’s all medical organizations, has launched measures toward supplying all necessary serums and vaccines to the medical facilities. 

In accordance with the procedures set forth, urgent information is provided, about each snake-bite case, to the Ministry’s hotline, and taken under control. 

At present, Armenia’s medical facilities are fully equipped with the snake antidotes, and the medical staff has relevant training and capability to provide high quality medical assistance.
