YEREVAN. – Armavia Airline Company, which is Armenia’s national carrier, formally announced that, with the assistance by Armenia’s Government and Diaspora Ministry, it is ready to start a second weekly flight to and Syria.   

The Company also informed that in this case the plane tickets will be virtually free of charge, just as it was during the events in Lebanon years ago.

Earlier, a group of activists from Armenia’s civil initiatives held a protest Wednesday in front of Armavia Airline Company’s—which is Armenia’s national carrier—central office in the capital, Yerevan. The demonstrators were protesting against Armavia’s increasing of the prices of the Aleppo-Yerevan and Yerevan-Aleppo flight tickets.

Syrian-Armenians also complained about high ticket prices.
