YEREVAN. – The integrated social service system will be installed in Armenia. The Government on Thursday approved the program for installing this system in the country.

The integrated social service system aims to prevent people from finding themselves under difficult circumstances in life, and to help them, if they already are under such circumstances.

First and foremost, this system will be used toward lessening the problems of Armenia’s pensioners and people with disabilities. And the institute of a social worker needs to be established to this end.  

One of the ways for integrated social services is the principle of “services through one window,” when all social-service-providing organizations are located in one building. 

Incidentally, the Government’s respective program notes that this is not the task of just one department, and therefore the communities and regional halls likewise need to join forces. 

To note, a pilot program is currently underway in Ararat Region.
