YEREVAN. – Armenian MOD explained why Vahe Melkonyan injured by the Azerbaijani sniper paid for the treatment.

A group of journalists within the tour to Armenia’s Tavush Region visited the injured in Nerkin Karmraghbyur village on Wednesday. Melkonyan was injured on July 1st, he is recovering but is still in bed. Melkonyan has told the journalists that he had to pay for medical aid and treatment about AMD 200,000 ($500).

Armenian News-NEWS.am contacted the MOD, and the official Petros Manukyan informed that the injured has really paid for the treatment but just AMD 60,000 ($150). The military hospital, aimed at treating servicemen, is not free for common citizens, he added.
