“The Syrian-Armenians have affection for their homeland and they have always been loyal to [the Syrian President] Bashar Al-Assad. As soon as the situation gets more stable they will return to their homes. Part of them left for Lebanon during the uprising, however, they are ready to return to Syria as soon as they can,” Hovhannisyan said.
At the same time the Syrian compatriots will hardly tend to stay in Armenia for a long time. The representatives of the Armenian community in Syria are mainly dealing with jewelry. Men are jewelers and women – confectioners.
