The Gallup International Association has conducted a new survey ranking the 57 most religious countries in the world, CatholicCulture.org website reports.

Overall, 59 percent of respondents described themselves as religious, 23 percent as not religious, while 13 percent said they are atheists. 

States where majority of people called themselves as religious include Ghana, Nigeria, Armenia, Fiji, Macedonia, Romania, Iraq, Kenya, Peru, and Brazil. 

States where majority of people called themselves as atheists include China, Japan, the Czech Republic, France, South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Iceland, Australia, and Ireland.
