YEREVAN. – The Syrian President Bashar аl-Assad’s retirement may bring forth serious and unpredictable processes not only in Syria but in Russia, Iran and China, MP from ruling Republican Party of Armenia Khosrov Harutyunyan said at a press conference on Thursday.

“The current situation is not only a problem for Syria, mass processes are also possible in the Middle East. Such states as Russia, Iran and China are not interested in it,” he said.

Asked what steps Armenian authorities have taken to support the Syrian-Armenians, Harutyunyan said that Armenia has taken several measures so as to make it easier for Syrian-Armenians.

“However, Armenia is not the only state the Syrian-Armenians are willing to move. They prefer to go to the U.S. or Lebanon,” Harutyunyan added.
