YEREVAN. – The negative atmosphere of the past parliamentary elections  does not inspire to run for the local self-governmental elections, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) representative Petros Makeyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, the ANC has almost no candidates to run for the municipality elections.

“It is better to have more candidates of course, however, the negative political atmosphere following the May 6 parliamentary elections do not support it,” Makeyan claimed adding he has no information on attempts to limit the political activity as well.

To note, the local self-governmental elections will be held in Armenia’s Syunik, Ararat, Armavir, Shirak and Lori regions on Sept. 9.
