YEREVAN.-Oppositional parties the Georgian Dream and United National Movement, who will participate in Georgian parliamentary elections on Oct. 1, attempt to gain the support of national minorities, Soso Tsintsadze, rector of Georgia's Diplomatic Academy said in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“National minorities of Georgia are potential power and, naturally, each of the competing powers will try to find electorate among them. This is the reason for cooperation between Georgian Dream and “Javakh” organization and nomination of the organization’s head as a single-seat constituency candidate,” said Tsintsadze.

According to the political analyst, national minorities and Georgians are concerned over the same problems. The political parties realize it quite well and give seducing promises. However, their implementation is going to be tough.

Tsintsadze also mentioned that the upcoming elections will be heated because of the crisis, setting up favorable conditions for the opposition.

The candidate in single-seat constituency from Akhalkalaki is Norik Karapetyan, chairman of Javakhk Patriotic Union.
