YEREVAN. – The American-Armenians’ issues will get sharper during the Obama-Romney campaign, political analyst Richard Giragosian told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Disappointment with the US incumbent President Barack Obama who failed to realize his election promise and utter the word ‘Genocide’ instead of ‘Mets Yeghern’ in his annual April 24 speech, must not stop inserting pressure on Turkey. On the contrary, it will serve for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, said Giragosian who heads Yerevan-based Regional Studies Center think tank.

The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) invited the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to address American-Armenian voters, Obama was also invited.

As for Romney who was the governor of Massachusetts, Armenians have many expectations from him as well.

“The Armenian community of Massachusetts will increase pressure on candidates during the elections,” Giragosian added.
