Non-Aligned Movement summit kicked off in Tehran on Monday bringing together representatives of the states not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.
The meetings of heads of states, heads of governments will take place. Over 50 presidents, kings and premiers are expected to attend. Armenia has a status of an observer in the organization. President Serzh Sargsyan will participate in the work of the summit.
The key issues to be discussed during the summit are Iranian nuclear program, human rights, peace plan on Syria, Iran.ru reports.
Among those invited to the summit is President of Syria Bashad Al-Assad. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will also attend the summit.
The NAM is an international organization, including 120 countries on the principles of non-participation in military blocs. The NAM was established in 1961.
