YEREVAN. – The stamps evaporating from passports must be replaced by finger stamps, Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) National Assembly Faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on opposition Heritage Party faction’s initiative to make amendments in the Electoral Code.   

In her words, what’s more urgent is the Central Electoral Commission’s statement that it is necessary to put an end to using stamps that disappear from the citizens’ passports once they have voted.  

“If the evaporating stamp will not be used, changes need to be made in the Electoral Code. It is necessary to apply another method, finger stamping, as election oversight. [And] PAP parliamentary faction will soon introduce this proposal,” said Naira Zohrabyan.
