YEREVAN. – Issues regarding the situation in the region and its further development will be discussed, during the NATO Secretary General (SG) visit in Armenia, expert Tevan Poghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the NATO Secretary General upcoming visit to Armenia.  “Armenia and the NATO cooperate actively in diverse fields. Issues regarding the mutual cooperation between the NATO and Armenia will be discussed on the highest level,” the expert said.  According to him, it is not fair to link the NATO SG’s visit to the joint military exercises of Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which will be held Sept. 15 - 19 in Armenia. “However, taking into account that the NATO SG’s visit precedes the CRRF exercises, the issue will be discussed as well during the meeting,” he added.  As for the relations between Armenia and NATO and the membership with the CSTO, Poghosyan said that those two organizations complement each other for Armenia. At the same time there will come time when Armenia will have to choose between the NATO or the CSTO, but not in the near future. As the Armenian News-NEWS.am has earlier informed, the NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Armenia on Sept. 5-6. During his visit, the NATO Secretary General will meet with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the FM Edward Nalbandian and the Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
