The bodies of Bedros Matossian, 49, Kevork Matossian, 46, and Levon Matossian, 22—who were killed in the suburbs of Damascus—were removed from the conflict zone, the Syrian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church informed Armenian News-NEWS.am, and noted that the dead bodies of these Armenians were able to be removed by the mediation of the Red Crescent.        

At the same time, the information, according to which six Armenians had lost their lives in the suburbs of Damascus and as a result of the operations by a group called “The Brigade of Islam,” was not confirmed on Thursday. Syria’s several pro-government media had disseminated such information earlier.     

To note, around 60,000 Armenians live in Syria, and great majority of them reside in Aleppo and Damascus.
