KYIV. – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych issued a congratulatory message in connection with the birth anniversary of Archbishop Grigoris Buniatian, Primate of the Diocese of Ukraine of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
“I wish you health, inspiration, and spiritual joy in connection with your birthday. May God assist you for long years to serve the Church, Ukraine, and fraternal Armenian community,” Yanukovych’s message reads, Analitika.at.ua reports.
Archbishop Grigoris Buniatian was born in 1946 in Armenia’s Etchmiadzin City, where he received his primary and secondary education. In 1960 he entered the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and in 1965 he was ordained to the diaconate.
In 2001, and upon the order of Catholicos Karekin I, Archbishop Buniatian was appointed to serve as the Primate of the Diocese of Ukraine of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
