The demonstrators formed a human chain before the Embassy, and expressed their anger and protest with regard to the shameful Hungarian-Azerbaijani arrangement. Also, respective pamphlets were distributed to the Spaniards and foreigners who had gathered nearby the Hungarian Embassy.
At the end of picket, the participating Spanish-Armenian community representatives were received by the Hungarian Embassy’s consul, to whom a protest-declaration was handed.
On behalf of his government, the Hungarian diplomat expressed regret that the Azerbaijani leadership had broken its promise to not release the criminal.
Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier that Ramil Safarov, a lieutenant in the Azerbaijani military, was extradited on August 31 from Hungary, where he was serving a life sentence—and with no expression of either regret or remorse—for the premeditated axe murder of Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan, in his sleep, during a NATO Partnership for Peace program in Budapest back in 2004.
