BAKU. – The NATO has no intentions for military interference in Syria, the NATO Secretary General (SG) Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in Baku on Friday, ITAR-TASS reports.

Rasmussen is against running parallels between Syria and Libya, as in the Libya’s case the NATO had the UN mandate and support by the regional states, while in case of Syria, political solution is preferable, Azerbaijani media outlets report.

Besides, the NATO SG attentively follows the situation around Syria and the bloc is ready to defend Turkey if there is such a necessity.
