YEREVAN. – It is very important that NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen made a clear announcement in connection with Azerbaijan’s pardoning of the murderer, Armenian Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation Director, political scientist Stepan Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, and noted that collaboration with NATO is useful for Armenia, as this improves the Armenian army.
And Rasmussen’s words—according to which NATO is concerned about making a hero out of the Azerbaijani criminal—are important because this significant organization has never dealt with conflicts in the post-Soviet expanse. “This is very important for Armenia and for regional security and stability,” Grigoryan noted.
In the political analyst’s view, NATO Secretary General’s message to the countries in the region is that this organization stands ready to cooperate with the countries of the South Caucasus. And what’s most important is that Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s visit contributes to stability in the region.
