YEREVAN. – As of 8pm, 479,625 of the 968,643 eligible voters, or 49.52 percent, cast their ballots during Sunday’s local self-government elections that were held in Armenia, the Central Electoral Commission informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

To note, all electoral precinct doors were closed at 8pm and vote calculation has commenced.  

The self-government elections were held in the country’s 481 communities, specifically in Ararat, Armavir, Lori, Shirak, and Syunik regions. As a result, community leaders were elected in 379 communities and council of elders’ members were voted for in 454 communities.
