VANADZOR. – Armenia’s City of Vanadzor Mayor Samvel Darbinyan was reelected to this office during Sunday’s local self-government elections. Majority of the city’s voters cast their ballots in Darbinyan’s favor, Armenian News-NEWS.am’s Lori regional reporter informs. 

Chairman Tigran Papanyan of the District Electoral Commission No. 30 informed that, as a result of preliminary counting of the votes, mayoral candidates  Taron Apresyan, Tigran Grigoryan, Karen Tumanyan, Edik Karakhanyan and Samvel Darbinyan received 2,421, 1,287, 4,249, 13,091 and 21,321 votes respectively.

As a result, incumbent and ruling Republican Party-member Samvel Darbinyan will continue to head Vanadzor for the next four years.
