MOSCOW. – Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and the U.S. Secretary of the State Hillary Clinton will try to reduce tension between Yerevan and Baku prior to the UN General Assembly (GA), the U.S. State Department representative briefed within the frameworks of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vladivostok.

Lavrov and Clinton have exchanged thoughts on Nagorno-Karabakh issue during the Sept. 8 meeting, as the representative claimed adding the United States was disappointed by the fact that Azeri murderer was released from the Hungarian prison. In addition, the U.S. has always tried to organize an event with colleagues of the OSCE Minsk Group within the frameworks of the UN GA.

To note, the sides decided to continue contacts and try to reduce tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan prior to the UN GA session, which is scheduled for Sept. 18.
