YEREVAN. – An Armenian peacekeeping team underwent a training course in Germany, Defense Minister’s Press Secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“As is known, an Armenian peacekeeping team—comprising 116 people—was undergoing a training course in Germany since August 15. The team passed a three-week course and returned to Armenia on September 4,” Hovhannisyan informed.

In his words, the Armenian military servicemen underwent training in Germany prior to being deployed to the American Camp Bondsteel base in Kosovo. They will carry out patrol service and safeguard the security of the checkpoint and, also, supervise and escort the people.

To note, Armenia takes part in The Kosovo Force (KFOR)—the NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo—ever since February 12, 2004. The Armenian “blue berets” carry out their service in Uroševac city and under the Greek detachment. The teams alternate every six months.
