BUDAPEST. – Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán personally has ordered the extradition of Azeri murderer Ramil Safarov, though he was aware of the fact that the murderer will sooner or later be released. The PM confessed this during the meeting with his party members last week.

Orbán was for many times warned by his co-party colleagues about the risks and consequences of such a  step, however, he decided to take the step for the Azerbaijani side, trying to get credits for the budget in deficit, Hungarian Origo.hu portal reports quoting sources of governmental and ruling Fidesz party.

He also confessed that he expected such a ‘problem,’ but he believed it would have taken place a month later, allegedly due to Safarov’s health deterioration.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier that Ramil Safarov, a lieutenant in the Azerbaijani military, was extradited on August 31 from Hungary, where he was serving a life sentence - and with no expression of either regret or remorse - for the premeditated axe murder of Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan, in his sleep, during a NATO Partnership for Peace program in Budapest back in 2004.

Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan announced on August 31 that Armenia is suspending its diplomatic ties with Hungary.
