HELSINKI. – Finnish Helsingin Sanomat newspaper, which is the largest newspaper in Finland and the Nordic countries, published “Hungary slips on Nagorno-Karabakh” article.

The newspaper describes the cruel murder of the Armenian officer by the Azeri serviceman in Budapest in 2004 and informs about the murderer’s extradition by Hungary on Aug. 31 and granting him a pardon the very same day by the Azerbaijani president.

“Armenia is furious after the extradition and suspended diplomatic ties with Hungary. In addition, the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan declared about the readiness to a new war and Armenia holds discussions on recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh independence,” the newspaper claims.

The world community does not recognize the Karabakh and territories around it yet, however, they are actually controlled by the Armenian side. On this background, Safarov’s pardon and making him a hero do not contribute to Azerbaijan and the latter’s word for passing the Armenian minority to Azeri control.

To note, Azerbaijan promised Hungary two billion euro for the extradition.
