A 4.3-magnitude earthquake hit Iran’s northeastern section on Monday at around 7am.

The tremor’s epicenter was located 81 kilometers from Tabriz city and 59 kilometers from Armenia’s Kapan city. Its hypocenter was 10 kilometers beneath the surface, the US Geological Survey reports.    

The underground shakings were also felt in Armenia’s southern regions.

To note, a 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit northwestern Iran on August 11, killing 306 people and injuring 5,000. The tremor was felt in Armenia and Azerbaijan, too.
