YEREVAN. – Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ (MES) young rescuers’ team headed to Belarusian capital city Minsk, in the early morning hours of Monday, to take part in an international meeting of young firemen and rescuers.  

Seven children—two girls and five boys—ranging between the ages of twelve and sixteen were selected to take part in this event, and from the schools of Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, and the regions, MES press service informs.   

When selecting the participants, their academic excellence, knowledge on emergency situations, and creative aptitude were considered. 

Those children who passed the selection phase underwent special courses and received fireman and rescuer’s uniforms.  

Before leaving for Belarus, MES employee and delegation leader Aghvan Sargsyan noted that they will hold the Ministry’s name high during the international meeting. 

The team’s youth likewise promised to wear the Armenian fireman and rescuer’s uniform with pride.
