YEREVAN. – The UN Secretary General’s visit and the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) military exercises in Armenia and nothing else but a simple coincidence, expert Stepan Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He reminded that the exercises were planned long ago, besides, they are transparent, and the UN, OSCE and CIS representatives observed them. However, the expert emphasized that it is very important that the CSTO generates new mechanisms like CRRF for solving practical tasks. 

“The member-states of the organization are responsible for each other and should support each other in case of aggression,” Stepanyan added.

According to him, the CSTO is not yet as powerful as the NATO but it has stopped to be just an organization ‘on paper’.
