YEREVAN. – The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has not received from other countries applications for membership in the Organization, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha stated during a press conference in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan (PHOTOS).

In his words, however, there are those who wish to take part in separate activities, such as fight against drug trafficking and cooperation with international organizations. 

“The number of partners and mandates is growing, but not the number of members,” Bordyuzha noted. 

The CSTO Secretary General also said the Organization has a negative experience in this sense, as a country became a member but subsequently deserted it because of disagreements. 

To note, the meeting of the heads of the defense and security committees of the CSTO-member states’ parliaments and of the Coordinating Council of the Organization’s Parliamentary Assembly is being held in Yerevan from Tuesday to Wednesday.
