YEREVAN. – The second bloc of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) has stopped producing energy since Sept. 15, the Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reports.

The ANPP has ceased operating for carrying out annual installation, security measures and also for recharging. The reparation works will last till Dec. 11 of the current year. The ANPP will start operating in 88 days. In general, the annual installation takes up to 40 days, and full reparation up to 65 days (once in each four years). If required for implementing additional works, the ANPP suspends operating for a longer period as in the current case. 

To note, the ANPP was suspended for 85 days for the last time in 2008.
