The Collective Security Treaty Organization Collective Rapid Reaction Force’s (CSTO CRRF) “Cooperation 2012” military drills were conducted on a high level, Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan stated Wednesday at the closing of the maneuvers.
Ohanyan stressed that the objective of these exercises were not solely the improvement of knowledge and skills and the strengthening of ties, but, also, the organizing of cooperation and improvement of joint actions.
“As head of the military exercises, I am satisfied by the readiness of the military servicemen and the organized actions, the high level military cohesion. The objectives of the maneuvers are met,” Armenia’s Defense Minister stated.
To note the CSTO CRRF “Cooperation 2012” joint multinational military exercises were being conducted on the grounds of Armenia’s Marshal Baghramian Military College.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the maneuvers had kicked off on September 15, and the commander of the joint forces was Major General Kamo Kochunts.
About 2,000 troops from Armenia and other CSTO-member states took part in the drills.
During the exercises, the CSTO CRRF units worked on the use of force and means of collective security in the Caucasus. To note, the commanders of the exercises also held a development and planning of joint operations.
Representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross likewise participated in the military maneuvers.
