YEREVAN. – Opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliament group MP Nikol Pashinyan is appointed as head of the Committee on ethics, his assistant Vahagn Hovakimyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. The first session of the committee is scheduled for Sept. 24, which will discuss the application by opposition activist Vardges Gasparii.

As for the issue of withdrawing the mandate of the ruling Republican MP Vardan Aivazyan, Hovakimyan said that the committee first should receive such an application in order to discuss it.

To note, the Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan signed and confirmed the staff of the Committee on ethics on Sept. 14. According to the Parliament legislature, head of the committee was appointed by the major opposition bloc included in the committee. Pashinyan was followed by David Harutyunyan, who was appointed as a representative before from the major ruling Republican party included in the committee.

To note, a group of people demand that former Minister on Nature Protection and presently ruling party MP Vardan Aivazyan should be called for responsibility for all those abuses, which he made years before.

Besides, those people demand to discuss the issue of withdrawing the mandate from Aivazyan.
