YEREVAN. – “[Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik] Tsarukyan informed PAP members that the talks are in progress with [President] Serzh Sargsyan [and] with respect to supporting him [in next year’s presidential elections],” Hraparak daily writes and continues:
“The PAP has three options: to run in the presidential elections with its own nominee, to support Serzh Sargsyan, [or] to take a neutral position.
‘The boss leans toward the option of supporting Serzh Sargsyan,’ a [PAP] session participant said.
To the question: ‘And who will be your candidate if the PAP decides to run [in the elections] on its own?’, he responded: ‘Solely him, Tsarukyan. But Tsarukyan was speaking so favorably about cooperating with Serzh Sargsyan.’
During that meeting, Tsarukyan also spoke about six ministerial positions, giving him thirty percent of the Government, but he said nothing on the PM.
The well-informed, however, claim that ‘Prosperous’ will have to make concessions because, once the matter of the Eurasian Union and two billion [dollars] is resolved, an altogether different situation will be created in Armenia.”
