VAGHARSHAPAT. – American citizen Armen Chakhloyan, 36, was run over by a vehicle on Armenia’s Yerevan-Armavir Highway, nearby Musaler village, on Thursday at around 10:20pm, and he died some time thereafter. The vehicle’s driver, however, had left Chakhloyan unattended and fled the scene of the incident, Vagharshapat city Police Precinct informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Armen Chakhloyan, who was diagnosed with craniocerebral trauma, was administered to Vagharshapat Medical Center, where Armenian News-NEWS.am learned that Chakhloyan had died en route to capital city Yerevan’s Erebuni Medical Center.
US citizen Armen Chakhloyan was in Armenia temporarily and he was living in Geghanist village of Ararat Region.
Subsequently, the BMW that was involved in the hit-and-run was found 1.5 kilometers away from the scene of the incident and in the vicinity of semi-constructed buildings. The car’s front window was completely damaged and bloodstained. And the hit-and-run’s perpetrator, by the name of Gagik Sekoyan, was found much later.
