YEREVAN. - In Armenia pilots with occupational diseases demand their compensation, which was not paid for 6 years. A group of former civil aviation pilots gathered in front of the Armenian Presidential Residence and held a protest action on Friday, Armenian News-NEWS.am reports. Over two dozens of people participated in the action, which lasted for about an hour. There were 108 pilots with occupational diseases in the Armenian national carrier Armenian Airlines Company at the moment of the company’s involuntary bankruptcy since April, 2003. They should have received compensation in the amount of 60 to 70 percent of their salary for having deteriorated their health. “Anyway, we received no money during those six years,” one of the demonstrators said adding they have filed two group lawsuits, one of which was rejected recently by the Cassation Court.
