YEREVAN. – Ten square meters of roof was destroyed as a result of a fire at the headquarters of the country’s ruling Republican Party (RPA) on Saturday, Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Crisis Rapid Response Center Deputy Director Emil Avetisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To the query as to whether the fire was started intentionally, Avetisyan responded: “No. Construction activities were in progress, and the fire could have started from anything.”

Fortunately, there are no casualties or injuries.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, MES received a call, on Saturday at 11:27am, informing that the rooftop of RPA headquarters is on fire.

Four fire and rescue squads, one fire engine with an automatic ladder, and a Crisis Rapid Response Center team were dispatched to the scene.

To note, the RPA Headquarters’ roof was ablaze on May 22 as well, and, subsequently, the building was under renovation.
