A 4.2 magnitude earthquake was registered on Saturday morning in north-western Iran. US Geological Survey said the epicenter was located 96 kilometers far from Tabriz at the depth of 10 kilometers.

Tremors were felt in Armenia’s south, in particular the city of Kapan.

As reported earlier, four quakes measured 6.2 to 6.6 jolted Iran’s north-west near the Armenian border on August 11. The quake killed 306 and injured 5,000 people in East Azerbaijan province. A 4.5 magnitude tremor was registered in Armenia’s south and 3-4 magnitude in capital Yerevan. The quake caused panic and made people leave their houses in southern Armenia. No casualties and destruction in the territory of Armenia was reported.
