YEREVAN. – The statements on bribing voters in Armenia must be provable, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe observation mission members announced during a press conference on Monday. 

The members, who were monitoring—from September 9 to 23—the country’s local self-government elections, recorded several violations, but, as per them, without detailed evidence it will be incorrect to consider these violations as election bribes.

In his turn, the European delegation’s head Henry Feral stated that the training of precinct electoral commission heads and the precincts’’ practical conditions need to be improved.   

“Today we met with Armenia’s Territorial Administration Minister and presented him our election assessment, which is satisfactory for the most part,” Feral said.    

To note, Armenia’s local self-government elections were held on September 9 and 23.
