Zanjan city court of Iran sentenced Azerbaijani human rights activist Yasar Hakkakpur to 6 months’ conditional imprisonment as well as 50 lashes.
Hakkakpur is accused of making anti-propaganda against Iranian regime and sending materials to mass media assaulting the honor and dignity of the countries’ officials.
In 2005, the defender was also arrested by Maraga police and freed in a month. According to him, the probe against him was launched on a charge of protection of the Azeris’ rights residing in Iran, Trend News informs.
