YEREVAN. – The loss, which Azerbaijan inflicted to Arstakh [Nagorno-Karabakh], Armenia and own people by its policy of applying force and anti-Armenian hostility cannot be assessed in numbers, Armenian deputy FM Shavars Kocharyan told Armenpress agency commenting on the financial claims by Azerbaijan towards Armenia.

“In response to the realization of right of Artsakh people to self-determination, Azerbaijan perpetrated mass pogroms and ethnic cleansing, unleashed wide-range of aggression against Arstakh self-determination, which brought forth a great deal of human losses, destruction of residential buildings, infrastructures and occupation of the Artsakh territory till now,” Kocharyan said.

According to him, the Azerbaijani authorities, who make a hero out of a night killer axing a sleeping man (Azeri murderer Safarov), who refuse to withdraw snipers or establish mechanisms for examining [frontline] incidents, as well as refuse to reinforce ceasefire regime and constantly organize diversions on the line of the contact, carry a responsibility for human losses for every murdered regardless of their nationality.

“No perverse manipulation of numbers and international law or history of the region will help the Azerbaijani government to avoid responsibility for losses of all sides during the conflict and purposeful attempts torpedoing efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs on settling the conflict and preserving peace and stability in the region,” he concluded.
