YEREVAN.- An international tourism forum “Human values ​​and cultural diversity in the 21st century” will be held in Armenia on October 18-19.

Ministerial-level forum will be held in Yerevan, Deputy Economy Minister Ara Petrosyan told reporters on Thursday.

The participants will sign a Yerevan declaration which Ara Petrosyan labeled as “an unprecedented move”.  

According to him, the forum will focus on the problems of protection of cultural monuments, intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity, communication and tourism.

“It is a global problem and Yerevan will serve as a platform for dialogue,” Petrosyan said, adding that the forum is organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The forum will bring together at least 100 delegates, including the UNWTO delegation headed by Secretary-General Taleb Rifai, as well as many experts, delegations from Russia, Czech Republic, Romania, Georgia, Kazakhstan and other states.

Yerevan will also host a regular session of the CIS Council of Tourism
