YEREVAN. – The “Freedom of Information Center of Armenia” (FOICA) NGO and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) jointly held the “Golden Key and Rusty Lock” annual awards on Friday.

This year FOICA’s special “Golden Key” was presented to Armenia’s MFA for the country’s membership in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) international initiative and for best organization of the activities of Armenia’s Action Plan, MFA press service informs.

The award was received by head of OGP’s Armenia team and Deputy FM Ashot Hovakimyan.  

In his address, Hovakimyan stressed the OGP’s importance in terms of securing transparency and accountability of governance in Armenia.  

To note, Armenia is an Open Government Partnership member since October 2011.
