January 16, 2010 another 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti.

According to U.S. Geological Survey, the quake epicenter was 60 km south of the capital city Port-au-Prince approximately at the depth of 10 km. No report on new fatalities is available.

As NEWS.am reported previously, January 12, 2010 a major 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti followed by 5.9 and 5.5 aftershocks. According to preliminary data, 140.000 people were killed and 3m were left without access to water, food and power.

The disastrous quake collapsed thousands of buildings, including the presidential palace and the U.N. peacekeeping headquarters, prison and lots of schools in capital city Port-au-Prince. UN calls international community to allot U.S. $ 562m to the restoration of the country.
