YEREVAN. – The speed detectors that are installed on the roads of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan are not certified, Eduard Hovhannisyan, “Achilles” Center for the Defense of Drivers’ Rights NGO Chairman, stated during a press conference on Monday.

He informed that these devices, which were manufactured in Germany, are the MR S580 model which is a multi-radar, but not the best model because its margin of error is 3 km/hour. And this means the driver can be fined for speeding even though he/she was not speeding.

Hovhannisyan added that numerous other countries use the more improved—MR SD 580—model, whose margin of error is a mere 1 km/hour.
